Si tienes planeado visitar Cantabria, region española ubicada en el norte de España, no puedes dejar de visitar Santillana del Mar. Esta villa, es uno de los principales atractivos turisticos de la region, dado la belleza de sus calles, sus casonas de estilo medieval y por su Colegiata, de estilo romanico. La Colegiata de Santa Juliana es una de las joyas del romanico en Cantabria. Construida en el siglo XII, aun conserva su encanto, y su claustro adosado a la fachada norte de la iglesia, muestra 42 capiteles con diversos motivos propios de la escultura romanica.

Ademas de la Colegiata, las Cuevas de Altamira, a pocos kilometros, destacan por su singularidad y por las pinturas rupestres que contiene en su interior. Su estancia principal, ha sido considerada como la "Capilla sixtina del arte cuaternario", dada la belleza y la perfeccion de sus dibujos y han sido declaradas Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO. El Museo de Altamira contiene una exposicion sobre el arte rupestre y la prehistoria en Cantabria.

The Colegiate church of Santa Juliana, is one of the jewels of the Romanesque one in Cantabria. Built in the 12th century, even his captivation preserves, and his cloister attached to the north front of the church, shows 42 capitals with diverse motives of the romanesque sculpture.

Besides the Collegiate church, the Caves of Altamira, to few kilometres, stands out for his singularity and for the cave paintings that it contains inside. His principal cave, it has been considered to be the "Sistine Chapel of the Quartenary Art", given the beauty and the perfection of his drawings and the caves have been declared Patrimony of the Humanity by the UNESCO. Altamira´s museum contains an exhibition about this type of art and the prehistory in the region.
