The square is located at the end of the beautiful Gran Via, one of Madrid's busiest streets. The green square is surrounded by streets, but it is still a very relaxing place during daytime. It features a large fountain and famous statue honoring the Spanish writer Cervantes.
The Edificio de España was built between 1947 and 1953 and is the most elegant of the two skyscrapers. It consists of a central 25 story tower flanked by two wings. The Torre de Madrid was built in 1957. It was the tallest building in Madrid until the Torre Picasso was built in 1989.
The most popular sight at the Plaza de España is the monument to Miguel de Cervantes, writer of the world famous story of Don Quixote de la Mancha and his trusty squire, Sancho Panza. Behind them a is statue of Cervantes himself, looking over his creations.

Founded on the site of the Roman camp in Hispania once occupied by the Legio VII Gemina, and lying on the banks of the River Bernesga, León is a town whose history goes back a thousand years. Having been subjected to the Barbarian and Moslem invasions, as from the 10th century it witnessed the emergence of the monarchy and nobility of northwestern Spain. Nowadays León is a peaceful town that has been designed to suit the needs of its inhabitants and visitors and which enjoy first-class road and motorway connections with all the key towns of the Iberian Peninsula. Its Gothic cathedral -referred to by the Latin term "Pulchra Leonina" owing to the beauty of its stained-glass windows and the equilibrium of its dimensions-serves as the starting point for what is delightful tour of the town´s medieval nucleus.

Fair of April: the party of Seville The Fair of April of Seville is the most important festive event of the city, and one of the happiest and showy of the whole Spain. This event, which is celebrated anually in April, turns Seville into the center of all the looks and of all the interest to possess one of the best fairs of the world where the culture and Sevillian traditions are the principal attraction. I hope to be there one day and put on one of those beautiful dresses, but before going, I should have some "sevillanas" classes, the typical dance.
